Last week the National Ballet of China gave 4 performances in Hong Kong. The first programme was a Chinese version of Nutcracker premiered in Shanghai in March. The second programme, the better of the two, consisted of Frank Andersen's staging of "La Sylphide" which was finely danced by the company who had never danced any Bournonville before. I did a review for a local leisure magazine.
http://homenothome.com/Hnh/Living/Living_ArtCulture.cfm?city=HK&CellId=1019&F ileName=ae000908.htm

[This message has been edited by Kevin Ng (edited September 20, 2000).]
