Farida's never-ending love of ballet continues to blossom

Farida Oetoyo turned 62 on July 7, but she just can't stop ballet dancing.

This doesn't mean the veteran ballerina and renowned choreographer still shows her fine steps on stage. Instead, she has more time to dedicate to the performing arts after retiring as the chief of the organizing committee at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta (GKJ) on Jl. Gedung Kesenian in Central Jakarta, a position she held since 1987.

She still teaches at the Jakarta Institute of Arts and at the Sumber Cipta ballet school in South Jakarta, and directs Kreativitat Dance Indonesia, a dance company.
