Royal Ballet dancer Andrej Uspenski has announced the forthcoming release of a new book of behind the scenes photographs of The Royal Ballet.

Uspenski’s passion for photography began as a child when he would spend hours in his father’s photographic studio. A love for photography flourished in parallel with his dancing career and over the last two years he has been taking photographs of Royal Ballet dancers in rehearsal and on stage. His new book "Dancers: Behind the Scenes with The Royal Ballet" brings together more than 200 of these images, both in black and white and colour. Dancers are shown attending company class, rehearsals, costume fittings, hair and make-up through to live performance.

The book includes an introduction by Uspenski and a foreword by Jeanetta Laurence, Associate Director of The Royal Ballet.
