Hi Vladimir. I took an hour-and-a-half train ride today in order to see the single performance, "Sleeping Beauty," by The Municipal Theater Ballet of Kiev in Lausanne, Switzerland.

This is what I might very loosely describe as another one of those 'once-upon-a-time Soviet Union groups,' that drops in from out of nowhere....

and lifts you up into *The Heavens* for a couple hours.

Hopefully more thoughts to follow.

PS--What a lovely building !

Fly on through the sky,
Fly on my sweet angel,
Forever I will be by your side"

Natalia Matsak
Beautiful dancing and elegant presence--in the final court scene she could have easily stood out front at the Bolshoi !

The Lilac Fairy -- Daryna Krulevska
Fine dancer with that touch of Nina Ananashvili loveability.

Carabosse -- Kateryna Didenko
A 'charming!' Carabosse that you would want to run up to and embrace like you would a Natalia Osipova or an Evgenia Obraztsova. She reminded me of a lovely redhead at the Hermitage Theater, Saint Petersburg, last year, who danced Carabosse and then proceeded to dance the part of Princess Florine(?) a few minutes afterwards.

Cinderella -- Alisa Voronova
She floated around the stage like a 'Kirovian' summer breeze.

And on and on.

"Earth Angel, Earth Angel"

(song from the 50's)

[a few words changed in the description ofAurora--Natalia Matsak]

Here is an interview of Boris Eifman by Tetiana Polishchuk in The Day, a Kiev publication.

Does anyone have any information about Kiev Ballet Academy?
How can I contact them? I would like to know if they accept foreigners, and I would like to know how I can audition.
If you have any information, please, I would be so grateful!!
Thank you!
