Last year the Mikhailovsky Ballet triumphantly debuted on the famous stage of La Fenice Theatre in Venice. Their stylish rendition of Giselle, hailed by the international press as one of the most gentle and stylish productions of this classical ballet, was presented to the Italian public with critical acclaim.
In response to a great demand for the Mikhailovsky to come back, they are delighted to announce that on February 12th and 13th the company will perform a specially selected Gala programme at Teatro Malibran in Venice.
The masterpiece of American art of dance, The Moor's Pavane, will be followed by true gems of Russian ballet. Artistic director of the Mikhailovsky Farukh Ruzimatov will appear on stage as Moor and perform famous Adagietto to Mahler music. Among other artists to participate in the concerts are world-famous Irina Perren, Anastasia Matvienko, Semyon Chudin and Marat Shemiunov.

Thanks for the update, Gavin. Having seen Farukh Ruzimatov in modern dance works in Tallinn and London, I know the Venice fans are in for a treat.
