This is the second of two programmes celebrating the global legacy of Royal Ballet founder Ninette de Valois, who formed the first ballet school in Turkey in 1948. The two main Turkish State Ballet Companies from Ankara and Istanbul combine to present contemporary works by Turkish choreographers.
After a short film introduction about the founding of the company, a duet by de Valois called At the Fountainhead, from a work she created for them in 1965 was danced.
