In her review of Cinderella, Ana Abad-Carles refers to a step performed by Shipulina that the other Cinderellas never attempted:



Sadly I didn't see Shipulina in the role myself, but Ana wasn't the only ballet goer impressed this step and a number of people were discussing it. I recently discovered this clip on You Tube and now we can all see what it looked like.

Is it newly invented, or has someone seen something similar before?

can't ever recall the Paris lot performing that glide ... but it may have been one of the many black-out moments induced by Nureyev's "choreography".

(Advice to Wikipedia contributors: there is NO NAME for that step. It's like the bone in the human body called INNOMINATUS)

Wouldn't it have gone easier in Roller-blades, though?
