The first critics to review the new BRB Mixed Bill are not impressed with the Stanton Welch piece. The new RB AD is a great fan of Welch, so we may be seeing more of his work over the next few years.

Birmingham Royal Ballet
Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham
Judith Mackrell
Http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/0,4271,,00.html
'Razing the standard - our critic pours cold water over new works now on show at both the Royal Ballet companies
BY DEBRA CRAINE http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/0,,62-96170,00.html
A wondrous beginning, an exhilarating end. In the middle - men in their pants. Ismene Brown thrills to Birmingham Royal Ballet.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/et?ac=000148269364269&rtmo=0xxeX2xq
&atmo=99999999&pg=/et/01/3/12/btbirm12.html
[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited March 12, 2001).]
