Moscow Ballet is holding its first traveling summer master class series in 9 U.S. cities this summer:<P>o Ann Arbor, MI 8/5 - 8/17 at the Dance Gallery Studio <BR>o Charlottesville, VA 7/22 - 8/3 at Balletschool <BR>o Chula Vista (San Diego), CA 8/5 - 8/17 at the Ballet Conservatory <BR>o Euclid (Cleveland), OH 8/5 - 8/17 at Lakeshore Dance and Gymnastics<BR>o Harlingen, TX 7/22 - 8/3 at Rio Grand Valley Arts Studio<BR>o Killeen, TX 7/8 - 7/20 at the Newcomb School of Ballet<BR>o Plano (Dallas), TX 7/22 - 8/3 at Plano Academy of Dance<BR>o Shreveport, LA 7/8 - 7/20 at Carol Anglin Dancenter<BR>o Virginia Beach, VA 7/8 - 7/20 at Virginia Beach Conservatory of Dance<P>The summer classes will follow the GITIS textbook by Viatislav Valuchin, a definitive work on classical dance. The program is open to students with at least three years of ballet training. Classes will run Monday through Friday with four classes of 1 ½ hour per day taught by two Russian masters, one female and one male expert in partnering and repertory. Each course will focus on one of four areas: partnering, historical dance/character dance, classical and repertory. The first Saturday will feature a bonus guided cultural outing to a local arts event.
