Spain's Victor Ullate Ballet flows against mainstream

Vail - Some of ballet's most exciting innovations are happening at compact, artist-driven companies independent of the mainstream troupes typically bearing the name of their cities of origin.

Among the best of these entrepreneurial ensembles is the Victor Ullate Ballet, which completed a two-evening run Friday at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater under the auspices of the Vail International Dance Festival.
