The Theatre Museum is celebrating Dance Umbrella's twenty-fifth anniversary with an exhibition of dance photographs by Chris Harris. Featuring leading dancers such as Michael Clark, Bill T Jones and Arnie Zane, and Siobhan Davies who all appeared at the Riverside Studios and elsewhere in the 1980s. The exhibition will be accompanied by a book highlighting some of Chris Harris’ best dance work, with a preface by Val Bourne.

I saw the exhibition tonight and it is well worth a visit, both as a celebration of the first 10 years of Umbrella and for the quality of the photographs. The 25 or so images are placed on a descending walkway, which is not ideal, so it's best to stand by the wall opposite each image to get a better perspective.

There are also several other exhibitions currently running at the Theatre Museum, so if early UK modern dance is your thing, don't delay.
