I agree with the reviewer about Ratmansky's Cinderella (at least the Mariinsky one....he has since staged another in Australia, I believe, which might be different). To me it is a flop, yet the Mariinsky keeps staging it. There are a couple of interesting moments (choreography-wise), but the problem is that you simply don't care about the characters that much.

I actually find his "love duets" in both this Cinderella and his Anna Karenina really boring and long-winded. Cinderella's solos and her duets are prettier than the rest of the choreography, but there is something boring about those "pretty" moments also.

I think his Little Humpbacked Horse is much better both in terms of choreography and story-telling. It moves fast and it is a lot nicer to watch (talking about the choreography) despite the sparse sets and some ugly costumes.
