I enjoyed her review b/c she finds more substance than I do in Rite of Spring. I am trying to see why some like it. I do agree with her that the sets and costumes are so colorful and that is nice. I have always found the music (heard it at symphony concerts without the dancers several times in the past) fascinating, but from the video of the Mariinsky's Rite of Spring I hated the actual ballet. However, seeing it live this weekend (four times in a row no less.....I deserve a medal) I found some things interesting. However, I view it as "modern dance" or a "theatrical piece" and not as ballet. Others can disagree. I don't know if I ever want to see it again after 4 times in a row.

The Mariinsky Ballet is apparently in talks with the Kennedy Center for an expanded season in 2016....
