Lewis Segal seems to feel strongly about appreciating older dancers:

However, that tradition took a vigorous back step recently when Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri of the Delhi High Court ruled that dancers over 45 cannot be said to give performances, merely lecture-demonstrations.

I almost can't believe this has happened in a country such as India, with its tradition of respecting older dancers.

The National Dance Centre makes a stand against ageism at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival:
