I was thinking...in your opinion do you think the pop singers such as Britney Spears are good role models? And do the little girls understand that it's not appropriate to wear half tops and stuff on the streets and to school, but its ok to wear it on stage as a costume? And one last thing is, many of us dancer will wear sparkely half tops and stuff for costumes when we are on stage.. do you think that we use the same exuse as Britney?
------------------
*Lil Ballerina*
~Keep on Dancin!~
[This message has been edited by *LiL Ballerina* (edited October 09, 2001).]

Wellllll...LIL Ballerina...thats a sticky one.Well maybe not for me.
Brittany is a good role model of making dreams come true--but her presentation of herself in scantily clad clothes and VERY sexy moves(though she is a good dancer)...
if I had a 13 yr old,I wouldnt want her to imitate her style. It seems like MOST of her fan base is 11 to 15 yr olds.
But I remember when Madonna 1st came out,and there were the same complaints. We ALL want to be attractive and appealing on stage--but I DO believe in leaving some things in the imagination if you understand what I mean.
Even though ballet dancers wear very little also, they present themselves in a different way;not a whole lot of wiggling and gyrating--ya know what I mean?
