Hi everyone! I'm starting ballet in august, and i have a few questions. I'm in jazz, and I'm already relly flexible. Are there any muscles I should be strenghthening< or any excersises or stretches I should be doing to get ready? I want to advance as fast as I can to pointe. I know I'll probablly have to work on turnout.

Hello Athena - welcome to our board - glad that you have joined us. <P>Everything that you need to do for ballet you need to do under the supervision of a teacher. You really shouldn't work on it yourself. <P>As for going onto pointe you will need to take 2-3 ballet classes a week for about 2-3 years before you are ready. And, then only your teacher can decide when you are ready. <P>This topic really belongs in The Studio and I am going to ask someone to move it there for you.
