International University "Global Theatre Experience"
has announced the Call for proposals:

International Conference "Performing Arts Training Today"

October 28-31, 2009
Leibnitz, AUSTRIA

The conference is open to performers from all over the world interested in the
research of topical questions and processes in contemporary performing arts
education and training. This is a wonderful opportunity for performers, performing
arts educators and teachers to demonstrate their methods and techniques.

PRESENTATION FORMATS:
- workshop/master class
- work in progress
- performance fragment not requiring special technical conditions
- reading/lecture
- any other way of demonstration to the presenter's discretion

Blank Canvas 2010

Deadline for receipt of applications:
September 30th 2009

The Firkin Crane is a focal point for dance in Ireland and is inviting applications for the second year of its annual professional dance residency programme “BLANK CANVAS”.

BLANK CANVAS offers artists incubation time and space to research, develop and explore their creative endeavours within a generously supported environment, without emphasis on a finished production. Blank Canvas allows the creative process to be given breath in ways which suit artists needs. We will provide studio time, space and technical/administrative support . In some cases small pockets of funding may also be available. Artist are encouraged to apply for match funding from other sources to support their application.

In 2010 The Firkin Crane will be particularly interested in supporting projects of a collaborative nature between professional artists across art forms. Multidisciplinary works that aims to push the boundries of artists comfort zones and encourage artistic exchange. We would also encourage applicants to chose a mentor for their work processes.

Stone Dance Productions is seeking choreographers/dance companies to perform in the 2010 edition of Chop Shop: Bodies of Work (February 12th-14th) at The Meydenbauer Theatre in Bellevue WA.

Chop Shop: Bodies of Work is an annual festival highlighting the best of local dance from the Northwest. This festival is in its third year of sold-out shows and great critical acclaim and offers a great chance for artists to expand their visibility and audience on the Eastside. Past participants include: Olivier Wevers, Seattle Dance Project, Wade Madsen, and Spectrum Dance Theatre, among others.

Work chosen for this year's festival will be featured in performances on both days (Saturday evening and Sunday matinee), in addition to the chance to offer master classes on stage during the daytime hours of the festival. Generous compensation is offered for both performances and classes taught.



DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: September 30th, 2009

FORMAT: DVD or VHS (please include a brief, written explanation of the work shown)

LENGTH: Work submitted for consideration should not exceed 12 minutes. Work samples are permitted, but at least 75% of the work you are submitting for consideration should be shown. Works still in conceptual form will not be considered.

At the 6th international internet dance festival SideBySide-net 2010 (August-November 2010), artists get the unique opportunity to present their work on an interdisciplinary and intercultural platform and to a broad international audience for a longer period of time. The audience’s favourite artists (watch&vote-principle) receive prizes summing up to 3.000 Euro. Crucial criteria for nominations are the quality of dance, an individual style, and an innovative realisation of an interesting topic.

We are looking for choreographers/dance companies with contemporary work to be presented at Chop Shop: Bodies of Work, an annual dance festival highlighting the BEST of the greater Seattle contemporary dance scene.

Chosen work will perform in both performances (Sat evening and Sun matinee) and artists will also have an opportunity to offer Master Classes on stage during the daytime hours of the festival. Generous stipend for both!

This is our fourth year running this highly anticipated Eastside event with sold out performances and outstanding critical acclaim. This is a great way to build your visibility and exposure to enthusiastic Eastside audiences. Past participants have included Spectrum Dance Theater, Whim W'Him and Mark Haim, to name only a few.

Producer, Justin Boccitto and the Group Theatre Too are currently seeking choreographers for the 2011 Choreographer's Canvas taking place in the spring of next year. This is a performance opportunity for choreographers to present their work in an Off-Broadway venue. All styles of dance will be considered and featured in the Choreographer's Canvas including but not limited to tap, jazz, theatre dance, hip-hop, modern, ballet, lyrical, latin, ballroom, aerial, etc. There is a $20 non-refundable entry fee. To submit please visit http://www.choreographerscanvas.com. All submissions must be received by November 1st, 2010 and choreographers will be selected and announced in January 2011. No pay. Choreographers provide their dancers. Club Zak hereby announces The Solo Dance Contest 2013 a contest for a short contemporary dance solo (contemporary dance/contemporary ballet). The International The Solo Dance Contest will take place during the Gdansk Dance Festival 2013.

The contest is directed to the contemporary dance artists from the European countries.
The deadline for application is 28 February 2013
