Applications are steadily being received, and we are enthusiastic that the show will be one to remember. The event is a multi-cultural showcase. Dances from around the world are represented, including Jazz & Tap, Irish, Middle Eastern, Hula, Line Dancing and more!

The show begins at 1 pm, and the location is the Kitsap Mall, 10315 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale, WA 98383.

WASHINGTON ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTSREDMOND, WA-
In celebration of National Dance Week April 25- May 4, 2003, the members of Nu Delta Alpha (Dance Honor Society) of Conservatory High School will be sponsoring their first ever DAY OF DANCE on Saturday, April 26 from 2:00-6:00 PM. DAY OF DANCE will take place at the Washington Academy of Performing Arts and all abilities and interest levels of dance, ages 8 and up are invited to attend.

The members of Nu Delta Alpha will be collecting a suggested donation of $10 per participant. The money raised will help fund health and dance education research as well as the activities of Conservatory High School students. With the $10 donation participants are invited to attend as many dance classes as they wish on our DAY OF DANCE.

Dance for Health! is a nationwide initiative sponsored by the National Dance Association. The NDA is the leader of artistic and educationally effective dance programs as they impact the lives of people. This community service fundraising will promote exercise to improve health.

Students of Conservatory High School will be teaching classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop and Modern. Your $10 donation allows you to take as many as 4, one-hour long classes taught by the Academy’s best. Whether you are a budding beginner or a seasoned pro, we’re sure you’ll learn something new. Dance is proven to be an excellent form of exercise for the mind and spirit as well as the body. It builds discipline, respect, teamwork and confidence and has become increasingly recognized as a vital part of the American heritage and culture. NATIONAL DANCE WEEK is an opportunity to show your support of this art form.

For further information on participating in the DAY OF DANCE, contact Karyn Bracilano, the Dance Department Chair, at (425) 883-2214 ext. 216 or visit the Academy’s website www.waperformingarts.org.

Check in is 30 minutes prior to performing (or earlier)! You MUST check in or your spot will be canceled. Please have ALL of your music on one tape or CD and let us know of any special needs you have at that time. Jawahir will be at the check-in table MCing all day. Please bring her a 3x5 card (no larger, please!) with your intro typed or written very legibly on it (no 8pt fonts! She'll go blind trying to read it!) AFTER you check in, you may proceed to the dressing room which is the empty store next to Gottschalks (On the right as you look at it). Kitiera (Trish) will be trying to direct the chaos there, so check in with her and she'll keep you informed as things progress. Please do not hang around the stage in costume before your performance! We DO have communication via walkie talkie between the stage and the dressing room this year. There will be tables and a *few* mirrors in the dressing room this year. The back of the dressing room will be partitioned off for the guys. GUYS, PLEASE CHECK IN WITH KITIERA before entering the dressing room so we can avoid anyone being seen indecent! LADIES, please be good natured about covering up when Kitiera announces she has to bring a guy through. (There is a back store entrance we may be able to use, also.)
