In celebration of National Dance Week April 25- May 4, 2003, the members of Nu Delta Alpha (Dance Honor Society) of Conservatory High School will be sponsoring their first ever DAY OF DANCE on Saturday, April 26 from 2:00-6:00 PM. DAY OF DANCE will take place at the Washington Academy of Performing Arts and all abilities and interest levels of dance, ages 8 and up are invited to attend.
The members of Nu Delta Alpha will be collecting a suggested donation of $10 per participant. With the $10 donation participants are invited to attend as many dance classes as they wish on our DAY OF DANCE.
Dance for Health! is a nationwide initiative sponsored by the National Dance Association. The NDA is the leader of artistic and educationally effective dance programs as they impact the lives of people. This community service fundraising will promote exercise to improve health.
Students of Conservatory High School will be teaching classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop and Modern. Your $10 donation allows you to take as many as 4, one-hour long classes taught by the Academy’s best. Whether you are a budding beginner or a seasoned pro, we’re sure you’ll learn something new. Dance is proven to be an excellent form of exercise for the mind and spirit as well as the body. It builds discipline, respect, teamwork and confidence and has become increasingly recognized as a vital part of the American heritage and culture. NATIONAL DANCE WEEK is an opportunity to show your support of this art form.
