This post is an introduction to our forum celebrating the second visit of San Francisco Ballet to London. More than one London critic has been heard to say that they are looking forward to this visit more than the Kirov, because of the richness of new and little seen works that will be on display, as well as for the quality of the dancing.
Those of you have been following these pages over the past week or so will realise that here at criticaldance we are taking this visit very seriously indeed. This forum will run for the period of the short ROH season and will then be archived as a record of this special event.
This forum is where the day to day postings of reviews, comments and up-to-the-minute news can be found. The other focus of our coverage is SFB index page, which is the hub for the material which has been compiled with the co-operation of the Company:
http://www.criticaldance.com/sfb/index.html
Various websites have already linked to the above page, including the Royal Opera House. Webmasters/mistresses, please feel free to put up your own link.
Over the coming days we have a wealth of additional material scheduled for your delectation. We don't want to give too much away at this stage (there are spies everywhere at the moment), but I guarantee there will be significant additions to our coverage every day.
In the threads below and to be added over the coming days, you will find just about everything you need to get the most out of this visit. If you haven't booked your tickets yet, there are plenty of good seats left, but this situation may not last long when word gets around of the quality of the work on show. If London is out of reach, then our coverage will give you excellent insights for the week.
But most important, we are very keen to have your words and your thoughts, whether you have seen the shows in London or San Francisco or have questions about the Company or the dancers. Whether you post 20 words or 2000 they will be more than welcome.

[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited August 11, 2001).]

If you attend the performances, please post your observations and impressions in this forum. I know the SFB staff and community back here in SF are especially anxious to hear about how the opening night performance is received.
[This message has been edited by Azlan (edited August 11, 2001).]
