This is a lovely show. Take your family. You will not regret it.

San Francisco troupe visits, with 'Rabbit'

CITY OF PLEASANTON CIVIC ARTS PRESENTS brings the ODC Dance of San Francisco production of "The Velveteen Rabbit" to the Amador Theater next weekend. The company, founded in 1971 by Brenda Way, who trained under George Balanchine, is internationally known.

Everybody remembers Margery Williams' 1922 story about a stuffed rabbit who wishes to become real bunny and the little boy's love that makes it happen. ODC Dance didn't just throw a dance together to pull in the bucks at the holiday time -- it took them three years to create a piece they are proud to perform.

"We felt it was important to have something that was our very best dancing to introduce the next generation to contemporary dance," said Way.

Well, OK, but I think the airfare from NY will kill me.
