Sugarplums will dance tonight By Charlene Hager-Van Dyke | Orlando Sentinel
ORANGE CITY -- Instead of dancing in the heads of children tonight, sugarplums will be right before their eyes, flitting across the stage in Volusia Dance Theatre's first production of the holiday classic The Nutcracker.
The production -- the fledgling Orange City dance troupe's first ever -- will begin at 7 p.m. today and Saturday at the Deltona High School Performing Arts Auditorium.
About 50 cast members, ranging in age from 4 to 40, will perform.
"They're really excited," said Wendy Mills, founder and artistic director for the nonprofit group. "They've had their annual recital, and they've been rehearsing for months."
