Joffrey's 'Nutcracker' the stuff of dreams
by HEDY WEISS for the Chicago Sun-Times

In fact, the dancing throughout seemed more brilliant and vivacious than ever, with the large corps of children so essential to the production looking particularly well-tutored, the offstage chorus (the Jubilate Children's Choir) enchanting in its sweetness, and the orchestra (under direction of one of the Joffrey's greatest treasures, music director-conductor Leslie B. Dunner) buoyant and precise. "The Nutcracker" may be viewed as every major ballet company's cash cow, but the Joffrey company never appears to approach it that way. Instead, it's serves up as a fresh, lavish, dance-filled feast infused with unbeatable seasonal charm.
