Local group to perform at Lied Center
By Mike Bockoven for The Orlando Sentinel

Jenny O'Hara of the Dance Company in Grand Island starts giving ballet lessons to children at age 3.

"They learn a lot of the fundamentals," she said. "Everything else they do is built upon what they learn when they're younger."
The fundamentals have earned a group of 11 young dancers a trip to the Lied Center in Lincoln to perform in the Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company's production of "The Nutcracker" Dec. 21 and 22.

The group of girls from the Dance Company consists of Alyssa Pomajzl, Laura Leisinger, Jessica Palu, Tori Ross, Sara Kuta, Nicole Mitchell, Anna Jean Scarborough, Kayla Beckstrom, Rikki Milton, Amy Meyer and Brittany Hanssen.
