For its 30th anniversary season, Chicago's eclectic Joel Hall Dancers decided to "super-size" its annual holiday-themed jazz ballet "Nuts & Bolts" ...

It's an apt description for a work that, over time, has taken a variety of vignette-like shapes. The addition of live musical accompaniment by the Chicago Jazz Orchestra, led by Jeffrey Lindberg, as well as a gospel choir and DJ Harry T add to the expansiveness.
