But the company's charming holiday show has already passed a tough test: In the first of 10 student matinees, the miniature story ballet not only held the attention of schoolchildren, but also sparked their curiosity.

More
[This message has been edited by Azlan (edited December 01, 2001).]

'Snowman' sparkles this holiday despite reduced cast, finances

The Cleveland Plain Dealer

Dancing Wheels' production of "The Snowman" is as unpredictable as Cleveland's winter weather. Choreographed three years ago by then-artistic director Sabatino Verlezza, the charming story ballet is revised annually to fit the skills and scope of the ensemble of dancers with and without disabilities.

The original version was sensitively adapted from Raymond Briggs' beloved children's book about a little boy who takes a fantasy journey with a snowman. The production was subsequently expanded with a celebratory scene choreographed by Barbara Allegra Verlezza for students from the company's community dance classes.
