"Like the Pittsburgh Steelers, even 'The Nutcracker' needs new uniforms, new pass plays and a new stadium every decade or so," wrote a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporter.
To banish the boredom, tell a different tale, beef up the audience and give the home team a new look, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre has mounted "The New Nutcracker." Choreographed by Orr to Tchaikovsky's music, the $2.25 million production features eight truckloads of fabulous costumes and scenery by renowned New York designer Zack Brown.
