Alpha sisters dance in Nutcracker
By JENNIFER J. HOWARD from NorthFulton.com

It’s Nutcracker time.

Perhaps no place else in North Fulton is "The Nutcracker” more a focus around the holidays than in the household of Steve and Debbie Necessary of Alpharetta.
Their three daughters, Kristi, Courtney and Abbie, have spent more time in Atlanta Ballet rehearsals than they spend at home. All three girls have danced in "The Nutcracker” with the Atlanta Ballet for eight years. And all three have, during various years, danced the part of Marya, either the young Marya or the grown Marya.

This year, Chattahoochee High School alumna Kristi (class of 2000), a member of The Atlanta Ballet Company and a Georgia State student, dances the part of the grown Marya with her younger sister, Abbie, by her side. Abbie, who is dancing the part of the young Marya, is a freshman at Chattahoochee High School and is in the pre-professional program at the Atlanta Ballet Center for Dance Education.

Middle sister Courtney, a senior at Chattahoochee, dances the parts of Flowers, Snow and Pig. She is a trainee in the Fellowship Division at the Atlanta Ballet Center and plans to dance professionally like her older sister. Courtney traveled to San Francisco in 2001 to dance with that city’s ballet summer program.
