'The Nutcracker' ballet a real gift to audience
By Franci Hart for NewsOK.com

This season's "The Nutcracker" by Ballet Oklahoma, under the direction of Bryan Pitts, was magical. Every performer from the youngest child to the most-seasoned ballerina gave a precision performance. The Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra was spectacular performing Tchaikovsky's beloved score.
Some scenes in this year's production were so beautiful; they had such a perfect meld of dance and music that one was sorry to see them end. "The Land of Snow" at the end of the first act was one of these scenes.

Snow Queen Katherine Eberle's and Snow King Wei Wu's romantic partnering was exquisite. Their dance perfectly captured the emotion of the music. Snowflakes Maggie Burke, Emily Fine, Amanda Herd, Laurel Hollingsworth, Macaira Kruger, Sylvia Luzuriaga, Loren Rich and Lauren Schwartz elegantly created the beautiful fluttering flight of falling snow.
