Utahns have many choices, from seasoned professionals to wobbly toddlers, to satisfy their "Nutcracker" needs. Alongside the grand dame of Ballet West's "Nutcracker," other Utah "Nutcrackers" have grown into annual traditions in their own right.

If you go to Odyssey Dance Theatre's holiday show "Joy To The World," which opened at the Jeanne/Rose Wagner Theater on Thursday, go for the music because there is very little dance. And if you go for the music, know that this is exclusively a celebration of Christian Christmas music.

The stage acts as a window into a talented family's Christmas eve. An easy rapport existed between cast members with the young, handsome David Osmond (of the famous Osmond Family) as the glue. The production itself was tight with first-rate costumes, musicianship, and dancing, but the content is that of a high-quality Christmas pageant.
