Another alternative holiday presentation in the Boston area is "A Dancer's Christmas", presented by Boston Liturgical Dance Company. You can read about it in the Boston Globe:

Quote:
Paying homage to the holiday spirit

By Karen Campbell, Globe Correspondent, 12/19/2002

For 22 years, the Boston Liturgical Dance Company has offered a holiday tradition rooted in the deepest meaning of the Christmas season. Rather than displaying waltzing flowers, dancing snowflakes, and toy soldiers duking it out with mice, "A Dancer's Christmas" offers a sweetly moving, often humorous portrayal of the Christmas story through the ages that keeps the holiday spirit pure and true
and in the Boston Herald:

Quote:
'Christmas' gets in step with holiday spirit

The Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble, "A Dancer's Christmas," at Boston College's Robsham Theater Arts Center, Chestnut Hill, Friday. Performances continue tomorrow through Sunday.
At 22, "A Dancer's Christmas" is an upstart compared to the granddaddy of area holiday pageants, the three-decades-old "Christmas Revels." But the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble's celebration is a happy alternative, offering a similar combination of professional and nonprofessional performers, ambitious staging and storytelling.

An article about BalletRox' Nutcracker in today's Boston Globe:
Quote:
A 'Nutcracker' for a new age
With multicultural flair, Jamaica Plain's BalletRox gives the holiday classic a modern spin to reach a broader audience

In the spirit of "better late than never", am posting this link to an article by Iris Fanger that appeared in the Boston Phoenix a couple of weeks ago:
