One of my Christmas presents was the 'Oxford Dictionary of Humourous Quotations'. There's not much on dance (what else is new!), but here are the best:<P>Caryl Brahms on Carmen Amaya's Spanish Gypsy Dancers - 'We are told that her supporting company are all her relations, and I dare say they do better than yours or mine would under the circumstances.'<P>Alan Hackney of Russia - 'Miles of cornfields, and ballet in the evening.'<P>Thomas Beecham on conducting the Diaghilev Ballet - 'I made the little buggers hop.'<P>Robert Helpmann on whether the fashion for nudity would extend todance - 'No. you see there are portions of the human anatomy that would continue to swing after the music had finished.'<P>

By chance, I came across this site today, which has at least 500 dance quotes. Gosh!

Why not tell us some of your favourites from here or elsewhere.
