Ballet dancers set for lacrosse action

Ballet dancers rightly contend that what they do makes them as much athletes as the players on any field. Now, some dancers are trying the jock routine on the sidelines, as well.

Six ballerinas from Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley -- Erin Duffy, Jennifer Fitzgerald, Tiffany Glenn, Erena Ishii, Ali Meijer and Dalia Rawson -- have joined the Spy Girls, the dance team that provides pregame and half-time entertainment for the new San Jose Stealth pro lacrosse team. They'll make their debut at the team's home opener in HP Pavilion on Saturday night. No tutus.

Six Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley dancers will let their hair down today when they make their debut as members of the official dance group for the San Jose Stealth, a new professional lacrosse team, at its home opener at the HP Pavilion.

Called the Spy Girls, the dance group includes Ballet San Jose's Erin Duffy, Jennifer Fitzgerald, Tiffany Glenn, Erena Ishii, Ali Meijer and Dalia Rawson, as well as jazz dancer Courtney Lesser and group leader Jodi Porter.
