It wasn't part of the official Polruan carnival day entertainment, but it had the entire village falling about laughing. By general consent the "Ferris Wayers" entry in the evening's carnival procession around the village really stole the show, carrying off the Patrick Malahide Cup and the George Watts Trophy.
Twenty friends and neighbours from Ferris Way at the top of the village had been secretly rehearsing for weeks for their version of Swan Lake with "Desmond Tutu" (who, when not performing a pas de deux, delivers the district's milk) forming the centre-piece as the Black Swan.
