Forget "The Fast and the Furious."

This isn't about who gets to the finish line first.

It's about who can take a souped-up street car and send it slipping, swerving and sliding sideways through a marked course at a heartstopping 100 mph - tires screeching, smoke billowing, with drivers making something that looks so out-of-control crazy really the opposite.

In Japan, Tanaka is known for his "twin drift" ability with Kumakubo. On the race track, the two swerve their cars side-by-side together at the same speed and often come within an inch of each other in a graceful, synchronized tango of cars.
