Well, you know how soldiers get medals for getting injured? In the US military for example a wounded soulder will receive a PURPLE HEART for bravery in battle.
Don't you think dancers also deserve a similar honor? After all, oftentimes injured dancers have to continue dancing in spite of the pain. So, I propose a new award, let's say, the PURPLE TOE, to be awarded to dancers for their bravery en-pointe or on stage, for their courage and bravery to bring enjoyment to so many.
The medal could be awarded weekly, with announcements like, "This week, the PURPLE TOE goes to Sylvie Guillem who never grimaced once while dancing in Romeo & Juliet with a sprained ankle."
What do you think? Great idea?

Azlan, Azlan, Azlan - your heart is in the right place - but - my friend - most dancers already have purple toes.
And, the bronze star won't do either - we are already "seeing stars".
How about a nice hot bowl of oatmeal? -for the toes of course.

Why shouldn't dancers be recognized for their courage? I have been moved by performances to discover later that the dancer was injured. In what other professions do you see such valour and bravery?
