:) Sonia Rodriguez (principal dancer and wife of Kurt Browning) is expecting in July and will not be dancing for the remainder of the winter and spring schedule. She plans to return for the NBoC’s 2003/2004 season. Girl or boy, if they choose ballet shoes or skates, one would think the genes bodes well for their career.

I’m curious as to whether the stork has produced any ballet dancers from a ballet couple?

In the Bolshoi, there were Alexei Fadeyechev, son of Nikolai, and Andris Liepa, son of Maris. I don't know who their mothers were, but I was always under the impression they were dancers, too.

In the P.O.B., Miteki Kudo is the daughter of former principal Noëlla Pontois. The dad was the dancer Daini Kudo. Former POB principal Dominique Kalhfouni and her husband, a principal of the ballet of Marseille, have their kids in the POB : their son, Matthieu, 18 is a "coryphée" and their daughter, Marine, 13, is a pupil of the POB school. POB principal Laurent Hilaire, and his wife, a POB dancer (I don't remember her name) have two daughters, and one of them, Juliette,13, is also a pupil of the POB's school

Andre Reyes (former prinicipal with SFB, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Smuin Ballets SF) had beautiful dancing parents, Benjamin and Josefa Reyes who are the founders of Santa Clara Ballet and have danced with Ballet Celeste and San Francisco Ballet. Ben Reyes was a student at SAB after his early training in his native Phillipines.
