National and local media seem to be all over Lynn Swann's campaign for the governorship of Pennsylvania. They keep mentioning that he's an African-American conservative, and of course they talk about his career as a wide receiver for the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers...but not one has mentioned the truly important fact about Mr. Swann -- he's a former ballet student. Indeed, he used to credit his dance training for his abilities as a football player.

Of course, the fact that he was willing to give up the munificent salary he might have made as a dancer for a meager NFL wage says much about his qualifications to manage a large stae government....

Yes, and I bet that Madonna still regrets the day she gave up contemporary dance for a career in music, films etc. No waitressing, no bar work. no worries about health care cover - how does she cope with the myriad lost opportunities?
