Well, Azlan, since you asked...
Mme. Smirnova (co-directors of my school) is ill, and the other co-director (M. Leblanc) is trying desperately to put together Act II of Nutcracker, since he cannot do the entire thing himself. (It's hard enough with two people.) So, this means limited roles, and parents and students alike are being difficult over it, saying they won't help out in the performance if their child doesn't get the role she "deserves." (The boys are pretty secure.) We depend very much on parent volunteers, since this is a ballet school, which is not a very profitable business. M. Leblanc can't please everyone with the casting, so there is a very large chance that we will not even be able to do just Act II, and without any Nutcracker at all, the school will just barely be able to hang on for the next year. M. Leblanc is trying to put together a small school benefit gala (good for me~~I might get to dance Sugarplum!) but it is also not easy to do. Basically, those of us who have been rehearsing are exhausted, and so are the few parents who are helping out. So you see how difficult life is for us all right now. Not to mention school! (Academic, that is.)
In Europe, I had a wonderful time. I got to see a few performances and take a few classes here and there (mostly in France and Switzerland, where I knew the language). I saw Sylvie Guillem dance Giselle at the Paris Opera (will write about it later) and got to go sightseeing. (Note to anyone going to Italy: The only thing in Pisa is the tower. There is nothing else.)
Sorry, Basheva, to write something serious in your humourous thread. People always used to do that in mine, and now here I go

! (At least I didn't discuss Pina Bausch...

).
------------------
~Intuviel~
Balletica
