Has anyone seen the Simpsons Season 17 Episode 9 Christmas Special? I just watched it for the first time and for like the last 4 or 5 minutes of the episode they do an entire spoof on Nutcracker using many of the show's characters. Very very funny stuff if you get a chance to see it and you are familiar with Nutcracker.

Yeah I know, how time flies . I remember watching the 1 and 2 minute shorts of them on the Tracy Ulman show.
This past December concluded the 17th season with episode 10 so now they are starting the 18th.

Here in the UK they are just about to release season 7 on DVD, so I always figured there weren't that many more!

Correction, I just saw on the website I use to view Simpsons episodes that they are not starting the 18th season yet, they are adding more onto the 17th, so now there is an episode 11 from season 17. I am not too sure when they will begin the 18th.
Over the years they have made a few references to ballet in the different episodes, does anyone remember the early on one where Bart gets punished and has to take ballet class, love that one .

Very amusing indeed. Especially when he tried to leap over the gorge/ditch/bottomless abyss.

There was also another one where they spoofed Swan Lake in a basketball type setting. I don't remember exactly what the episode was about but do remember laughing to the point of tears when the male dancer throws the ballerina in the air in like a grande jete, she catches the basketball in the air and slam dunks it in the basket before coming down and being caught in her partner's arms. I would pay GOOD money to see that feat on-stage
