Post subject:  perpetual trophies

Hi there. I was wanting to introduce into my studio a Perpetual Trophy in honour of my dear teacher who sadly passed away last year. my question to my cyber friends: does one need to obtain permission from the deceaseds family? are there any legal requirements/implications? just curious. Looking forward to receiving any/all replies.

Hello, spangles...to be honest, I don't know what exactly a Perpetual Trophy is. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your dear teacher. It is very lovely that you wish to honor this special person in your life, and in so doing, let your students share in the respect and memory...

I wouldn't think it was legally necessary to ask permission but it would be nice I think to ask the family's permission first out of respect.

It sounds like a lovely idea and I'm sure the family will be touched that you want to honour your teacher in this way.
