Post subject:  Dance and embodiment

Hi I'm a dance student and just wondering if anyone can help me with the theory side...I'm trying to find information on dance and the body in particular disabled dance companies and how they have resisted the dominance of body ideology. If anyone has any ideas on how or where I could find this information I would be really grateful,

Thank you

Welcome to criticaldance, Honey783.

A google search on '"dance company" disability' turns up several companies, most notably Axis Dance Company.

I have had to write my own question for my final year degree essay...
which is Critically evaluate how disabled dance companies have resisted the dominance of body ideology. There is not enough about this subject taught in dance. I have found a few books and websites on the the theory and some on the practical side very helpful.
incluing Adam benjamin,

Thankyou for the website address.
