I did ballet as a child for about three years and then stopped for about 6 years. Now, i am 18 and hoping to get back into ballet and work my way up the RAD syllabus. Do you think that it is possible? By the way, i stopped at grade 3. I will be going for my first jazz class tommorrow. I thought of taking jazz first as it would help me improve my flexibility before i get back into ballet. What do you think? I know there's no way, i can make it a a professional dancer but my thinking is that if i want to do something, i might as well do my best and by taking exams, i will be able to see where i stand. It will also provide motivation for me to go to classes etc. I am not sure if this is making any sense to you. Anyway, thanks for reading.

Arielle, that's perfectly possible! Go and see a teacher who will tell you in which class you belong. Chances are you could probably start already at grade 4. Go to a regular class and I can guarantee you will improve! By the end of the first year, you would probably be ready to sit an exam, and working you way up the grades would be not only possible, but a great way to help you focus and have an end goal. I sat my higher grades passed 18, so you can go back to RAD too without too much trouble I'm sure! :)
