I remember one girl that I know saying that at the auditions for the Boston Ballet School summer course that they eliminate dancers after each exercise, they tap you on the shoulder and say thank you, which is basically a polite way of saying "you're out, now get lost".Is this true?

I know that companies do that for their auditons but I've never been to an audition for a summer course where they did that.

If it's not true at BB, it's true somewhere.

At the auditions that I have been to, everyone has a number and at a certain point your number is called and you are either asked to stay or thanked and let go.

Yeah just the number thing, and after barre they say who can stay or not. That goes with school or company auditions. As for Boston "if you've got the money honey, I've got the time..." just a little song they like to sing come summer time.

Not at all...at least not with my experiences. I'm actually going to Boston Ballet this summer, and my audition wasnt like that at all - everyone stayed till the end and they mailed us letters.
