Hey!
K well this is getting very confusing! but dancerchic this is what my teacher told me to do. She told me to switch my legs in the air faster and then that gains more momentum and it seems as if both legs are higher! I don't know weather it will work for you but it did for me!! Hope it works!
Courtney

semantically geeking out:
as i have heard it:
a leap goes off from one foot and comes down on the other, and is usually travelling;
a jump/saute' goes off and comes down from the same foot (or feet), and can be either standing (up and down) or travelling;
and i am not sure what 2 feet-1 foot would fall under.
not sure if this is universal or not, but i have run into it everywhere. and it's not the kind of thing the dictionary (the normal dictionary, at least) defines.
--ari
The biggest thing I have found that helps me do my switch splits, is the will to do it! a few weeks ago, we had a camera man at our studio taping our class. When we did switch splits, I was actually able to do them! (you have got to look good on camera right!)I could do them simply because I wanted to so badly! You just really have to push yourself to do them, and not just expect them to happen!
[This message has been edited by *andy* (edited June 08, 2001).]

Andy - that is so true! An excellent point. That "will" and some excitement and marvelous things can happen.
