Hi, I'm Audrey. My class and I are now starting pointe. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Hi Audrey...congratulations on beginning pointe class! Take it slowly at first...it takes time to build strength and for your feet to get used to your shoes. Just plain "walking" around the room on pointe, perhaps holding onto your barre, is a good first exercise, too.

Also should my big toes feel like they're being smooshed against the tip of the shoe inside? I think They're kind of small so I'm going to talk to my dance teacher today and see what's going on with them.

Hi...no, your toe shouldn't feel jammed up against the shoe if you are standing flat. It should "just fit"...try a plie, too. Your toes should not be squashed up against your shoe when you demi plie. Do have your teacher take a look.
