Hi everyone!
Here is my situation.
I have been dancing jazz for 15 years as a student (for fun).I live in a remote,native village up north of Quebec,Canada.Anyway,someone ask me to teach what i know in jazz to kids and teenagers.I gladelly accepted the offer because dancing is my life and it will make me happy to know that some kids will learn basic jazz.The thing is how do i start,what are the basic move for beginners age 4 and 5, 6 and 7, 8 to 12 and 13+ these are my groups. i will have them once a week for 7 weeks. The organizer wants me to comme up with a little show for each group.

If Jazz dance is going to be taught, someone with experience in it needs to be around. I assume that you do not have that in your remote village. If someone were to spend some time studying dance elsewhere and then return, that would greatly improve the dance education possible. That would be the best situation.

In some forms of dance (NOT ballet), some people have been able to learn it and do very well by watching videos. This seems to be especially true of SOME hip-hop dance.

Are there other kinds of dance that people in your area have more experience with? How can that be incorporate into the dance you're putting together? You could possibly do something quite unique.
