I was just wondering if there was any certain stretch that stretches particulary, (i'm not exactly sure what it is called), but the muscle right under the hip bone, upper thigh, around there anyways, because I always hurt it, especially when I am running, because I do a lot of track and field, and I really want to find a way to stretch it faithfully so I quit hurting it all the time. So if anybody knows what I am talking about and could find a stretch for me, I would greatly appreciate it! THANKS!!

I would also like to ask you if you are running or do track and field on hard surfaces? And are you very careful to use the right kind of shoes. That will also effect the stress on your joints like the hip, which could cause pain.
Do you have any pain when you are dancing?

Yes, I do have good shoes and when I run, i'm usually on a track which is used for running purposes so I don't think it is that that's is hard on my muscles. Only sometimes, do I feel pain when I am dancing and it is when I have to use that muscle, so i would just like to find a way to stretch it out, because it is not a big deal, but it would be nice to find a stretch for the muscle.

I think you are talking about your hip flexors. A good stretch for that area is to step forward with a deep bend on the right leg so that your left leg is able to bend and your left heel is able to come off the floor. You can either do this holding onto the barre or resting your hands on your right thigh (never rest hands on a joint) and obvioulsy repeat the stretch on the other leg.
As always only stretch after thoroughly warming up and it is probably a good idea to show this stretch to your teacher first and see if he/she thinks it is a good one. they may also have some other ideas.
