Help!!! I just came from ballet class, and discovered that my right toe nail is on the verge of coming off. I've been studying pointe for a year and a half and wear Freed Classics. When it eventually comes off, can I still dance on pointe? Is this a normal occurence? Will the nail grow again? Thanks.

I have had a student who did lose a toenail and she still danced. She went to her Dr. after he removed the nail he gave her the all clear. It grew back perfectly. Don't worry but go have it checked just to be safe.

It's going to take a while but you can still dance on pointe.

Hi this happened to me, get it checked you can usually still go on pointe but you must keep it strapped with a sortof cusioned tape to give the protection the tonail would normally. It should grow back fine but it takes ages and you must keep it strapped all the time for a year as the new toenail will be weak and softer than the old one you have to wait till it is hard because there is a much greater risk of it happening again in this time. :)
