The Mind is a Muscle
...was the title of a recent workshop at Tate Modern examining the relationship between the visual arts and dance. Catherine Hale writes for londondance.com:

High-profile collaborations between visual artists and choreographers have always generated excitement – take Akram Kahn and Anish Kapoor’s latest sell-out offering, Kaash. But while the claim to ‘multimedia’ credentials now comes as standard in contemporary dance, the result is often a fleeting collision between the two communities rather than a deep and mutually-transforming engagement of concerns.
This workshop established an important dialogue. Catherine Wood, art writer and exhibition organiser with an interest in dance, and independent dance artist Sue Smith, also director of Company Pyke, joined forces to explore past connections and current directions of dance and visual art.
click for more
